While browsing this morning, I came across some photos of a beautiful fairy princess party idea with lots of green and purple … fun!  And if you have a little girl, you’ll definitely want to have a look!

This, of course, reminded me of my own sweet little niece, Serafina (top in purple), who LOVES dressing up in her fairy attire on a regular basis … always brings a smile. xo

A very easy project for a quick decorating update.

These are pub-table-height  chairs I’ve had for quite some time that came with a very basic and neutral off-white, fabric-covered seat.

I recovered them with a purple spiral-patterned fabric when I first got them, but since we just made a move to Charleston, SC, I wanted  something new.

There are just four screws underneath the chair for easy cushion removal and replacement with a Phillips head screwdriver.  After removing the cushion from the base, simply place it top side down on your fabric and cut a piece to size, leaving a very generous margin that will then be wrapped around and secured with a staple gun.  Really, the hardest part of this project is wrapping the fabric evenly, making sure that the surface remains smooth as you create folds on the underside to make it fit properly.

I found this soil resistant, upholstery weight fabric at Walmart, of all places, which also makes this a fairly low-cost project, as well.

Talk about fun!

These shoes cover two bases … the obvious lime and purple fascination AND a love of the macabre (well, I did stage manage Evil Dead the Musical and have performed in Rocky Horror a few times, so doesn’t that count?).

Flats for those of us who have virtually given up wearing heels out of respect for our poor feet and leg muscles … and a to-die-for platform-and-heel number for the more daring.

If you’re not a fan of lime and purple (of course, if you’re here, you must be … but just in case), you simply must peruse other designs and colors by this designer.

Fab.

Here’s a little inspiration if you’re thinking about using lime and purple in your home decorating.  Of course you’ve really got to love purple to go full on with these walls, but it certainly stirs things up.

It also shows that these colors can lend themselves to a more traditional room … it’s not just for contemporary design.

This room also incorporates my favorite accent color for decorating in lime and purple … black.  And the light gray accents — something I’ve never tried but will add going forward —  really lightens up the look and kind of tones down the “sunglasses” factor.
